Linda Romanello joins Post as Managing Editor

NEW YORK — Post Magazine, the monthly publication that's been covering the post production industry for more than 28 years, is excited to announce the addition of Linda Romanello to its core staff. She joins Post as Managing Editor and will report directly to William R. Rittwage, President and CEO of Glendale, CA's COP Communications, Post’s parent company.

Romanello brings more than 17 years of experience to the position, having held key editorial roles with such leading industry publications as Videography, Studio/monthly, and Government Video. In addition, she has been a contributing editor for Systems Contractor News, Pro Sound News and TV Technology, and has also worked on-site at trade show dailies for InfoComm, CEDIA, AES, and more. For the past several years, Romanello had been the account director for a number of public relations agencies, working with clients in the production, post and broadcasting industries, as well as other vertical markets.

"Linda brings a great deal of experience to this position with Post Magazine, having gained extensive knowledge of the overall industry from her work in both the agency and publishing sides of the market," says Rittwage. "We are pleased to welcome someone with such a thorough understanding of the industry to our team, especially as we continue to expand. She will help continue to drive the Post brand forward.”

In her new position, Romanello will work closely with Post’s Senior Editor/Director of Web Content, Marc Loftus. The announcement comes just weeks before the Post staff heads to the annual National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Linda in the months ahead,” says Post’s Marc Loftus. “She couldn’t have come on-board at a better time. We’ve got a lot planned for our coverage at the NAB show next month, and it will be great to have someone so familiar with the industry representing the Post brand, as well helping to report on all the latest post production news announced at the show and in the months that follow.”

As Managing Editor, Romanello will be actively involved in the day-to-day production of Post’s printed publication. She will work closely with Post’s core team of writers, and will represent the magazine both in print and at industry events. Her appointment will allow long-time Post staffer Marc Loftus to focus more of his attention on Post’s online presence, something he has long looked forward to.

“Knowing that Linda will be so focused on Post’s printed publication will allow me to dive further into growing postmagazine.com and other new media initiatives that we’ve been planning. It’s an exciting time, and the post production industry is a great space to be working in. It never slows down, and I’m looking forward to helping share stories about the creative use of technology with our readers in new and dynamic ways.”

"Post is highly regarded as one of the industry’s leading publications,” adds Romanello. “I've known and respected the team behind the publication for many years, and couldn’t be more excited to join such a stellar group of professionals. Our goals for the Post brand are aligned and I look forward to continuing to deliver an outstanding product and helping the team get to the next level."

Romanello, who earned a B.A. degree in communications from Hofstra University, is based in Plainview, NY. She can be reached at: lromanello@postmagazine.com.
