EDITSHARE'S 'COMPLETE COLLABORATION' LINE ON DISPLAY

AMSTERDAM – Boston’s EditShare (www.editshare.com) is showing its Complete Collaboration product line at IBC. The line includes EditShare Flow, the EditShare Storage Series, the EditShare XStream Series, and EditShare Ark, which offer ingest, shared-storage and backup with intuitive workflow tools for post production and broadcast workgroups.

According to Andy Liebman, founder and president of EditShare,
the Complete Collaboration tools are the answer to the chaos that often is associated with multi-format, multi-vendor workgroups.

EditShare Flow, Storage Series, XStream Series and Ark are designed for post and broadcast environments where multiple Final Cut and Avid systems are part of the mix, and where editors work with any formats ranging from DVCPRO to HD. With the new EditShare Complete Collaboration, workgroups can record just about any format and easily access a wide range of media.

EditShare Flow Ingest and Flow Browse integrate with the EditShare Storage, XStream and Ark solutions. EditShare Flow Ingest is an acquisition solution that captures in one format and simultaneously outputs to multiple formats, including Apple ProRes, Avid, MXF, as well as other low-proxy formats. EditShare Flow Browse supports proxy viewing outside the nonlinear editing application for optimal viewing on the EditShare Media Space, annotation of metadata forms, and the ability to drag and drop media into an Avid or Final Cut Pro bin.

Flow incorporates the EditShare Universal Media File technology where a single media file can be used in both Avid and Apple Final Cut Studio. Files produced in DV25, DV50 and DVCPRO HD can be ingested and used in either applications. Additional formats such as IMX will be included in the future.

EditShare Storage Series includes the EditShare Field mobile storage solution, EditShare Metro for small to mid-size editing workgroups and EditShare scalable rack units. In addition to the Apple and Avid project sharing capabilities, the storage series offers automated diagnostic tools and efficient back office data processing policies and administration.

The new EditShare XStream Series is designed to support high performance post and broadcast environments. EditShare XStream can process media at data rates of 300MB per second per stream, supporting up to 100 streams of DV50 and multiple 1080p 4:4:4 HD projects/streams. This makes it suitable for post facilities working with DI 2K projects.

And EditShare Ark provides integrated solutions for backups, mirroring, and archiving. These security features let users economically organize and manage media in a variety of scenarios, including LTO-backup and spinning disc solutions that can be upgraded to full EditShare Server Series with little to no downtime.
