Open House: NYC's FuseFX

NEW YORK — Creative director/senior VFX supervisor Greg Anderson gave Post a tour of FuseFX’s new New York space on Broadway recently. The studio, which also has locations in Los Angeles and Vancouver, provides visual effects services for a number of popular programs, including Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story. Anderson in the VFX supervisor for NBC’s The Blacklist, which shoots in Manhattan.






























Ninety percent of FuseFX’s (www.fusefx.com) work is for television. The studio opened its New York location on August 25th and continues to hire talent.


























FuseFX relies on 3DS Max for animation and Nuke for compositing. They also use Fume for smoke and fire enhancements. When Post visited the studio in December, they were working on a special two-part episode of The Blacklist that will air after the Super Bowl in February.































FuseFX is also working on an upcoming series for the Sony Playstation Network called Powers. The studio is creating the unique super powers for each of the show's characters.
