BOXX AND BLUEFISH444 PARTNER ON 10-BIT VIDEO SYSTEMS

AUSTIN, TX - Boxx Technologies (www.boxxtech.com) has entered into an agreement with Bluefish444 that allows Boxx to develop a new series of products based on Bluefish444 cards, including its Wildblue AV 10-bit uncompressed SDI card. As a result of the agreement, Boxx plans to show a new system at NAB featuring the Wildblue AV cards and running Discreet Combustion.

The Wildblue AV SD-SDI card features viewport frame buffer support for 10-bit 4:2:2 realtime I/O with six channels of AES/EBU digital audio for SD-SDI VTRs. Other features include viewport frame buffer support for Adobe Premier 6.5, After Effects 5.5 and Discreet's Combustion 2.1, offering realtime preview for YUV SD-SDI broadcast monitors.

"The ability to do uncompressed 10-bit capture and playback is extremely attractive to video professionals," says Boxx director of sales and marketing Ed Caracappa. "We plan to introduce a series of standard definition video editing products incorporating the Bluefish444 Wildblue AV card and unveil additional turnkey systems using Bluefish444's technology in the coming months."
