ZOIC WINS EMMY FOR 'FIREFLY' VISUAL EFFECTS

LOS ANGELES - Animation and effects company Zoic Studios (www.zoicstudios.com) was honored recently with a Creative Arts Emmy Award for its work on the television series "Firefly." The studio was recognized in the "Outstanding Visual Effects for a Series" category.

"We are thrilled to have our work honored with an Emmy and consider it a tribute to our successful and rewarding collaboration with Joss Whedon," notes Zoic creative director Loni Peristere. "We are very proud of the creativity brought to both 'Buffy' and 'Firefly,' and truly appreciate the industry recognition."

In addition to Peristere, Zoic credits include visual effects coordinator Kristen Leigh Branan; digital effects supervisors Emile Smith and Rocco Passionino; CG supervisor Lee Stringer; animators Kyle Toucher, Jarrod Davis and Terry Naas; and compositing supervisor Chris Jones.
