MAJOR UPGRADE FOR DISCREET COMBUSTION

MONTREAL - Discreet has upgraded its PC and Mac visual effects and compositing software, Combustion (www.discreet.com/combustion3), to Version 3 release. The latest version promises users increased productivity and flexibility, along with improved workflow through enhancements such as customizable brushes, savable presets, timeline markers and DV capture and output. Discreet is also working with plug-in developers to ensure support of integration with various Adobe After Effects and Photoshop plug-ins.

Through its new Editing Operator function Combustion 3 now offers editing capabilities for simple editing tasks. Users can now assemble video with transitions directly in the application without the need of a separate NLE. JavaScript expressions allow Combustion artists to create complex animations. Its Flash Output function lets artists use the vector paint and animation interface tools in Combustion 3 to create and output Flash animations, extending the range of options they can offer to their clients.

Combustion 3 is expected to ship for Windows XP and Windows 2000 this fall. The Mac OS X version should be available in early 2004. Pricing is $995, with upgrades from V.2 or 2.1 costing $199.
