FRIEDRICHSDORF, GERMANY — Maxon (www.maxon.net) is now shipping Cinema 4D Release 16 (R16), the next generation of its 3D software. R16 makes its international debut at IBC 2014 this week in Amsterdam.

In addition to numerous workflow enhancements, Cinema 4D R16 also offers a number of new features for rendering, modeling, UV editing, workflow and interface, sculpting and more, including a modeling PolyPen “super-tool,” a motion tracker for integrating 3D content within live footage, and a reflectance material channel for multi-layered reflections and specularity.

“Today’s 3D content creation professionals rely on efficient tools to optimize productivity,” says Harald Egel, co-founder and CEO of Maxon Computer. “Cinema 4D R16 is a landmark release that underscores Maxon’s focus on delivering 3D designers the most uncompromising, robust and artist-friendly software solutions.”

Features in R16 include: the new Team Render Server that adds server functionality to Team Render; the ability to add jobs to Team Render Server either via a watchfolder or a Web interface; a new Reflectance Channel that allows users to add multiple layers of reflections; and paint polygons to create point sequences or extrude edges intuitively.

Release 16 is available for both Mac OS X and Windows.
