Sony Creative Software upgrades audio software

MIDDLETON, WI — Sony Creative Software (www.sonycreativesoftware.com) has released upgrades to their Sound Forge Pro 11 [Windows] and SpectraLayers Pro 2 [Windows/Mac] software applications. Sound Forge Pro is a PC-based audio recording package. The new edition introduces more efficient recording and processing workflows, and new signal and effects processing plug-ins.

SpectraLayers Pro 2, an audio spectrum editing solution, has been made easier and quicker to use thanks to a faster processing engine and a host of new tools, methodologies and user interface improvements. While Sound Forge Pro 11 and SpectraLayers Pro 2 are standalone applications, both are now configured to work seamlessly with each other.

"Sound Forge Pro users can now enjoy a very straightforward punch-and-roll recording process, as well as a host of new plug-ins that can be accessed and controlled directly in the workspace,” explains Dave Chaimson, VP of global marketing for Sony Creative Software. Version 11’s new features include one-touch recording, CALM compliant metering, and a new plug-in chain interface that provides workspace access to every element of the plug-in processing environment.

The iZotope Nectar Elements plug-in is included, representing a $129 value. The voice processing plug-in offers presets for work in genres like rock, pop, folk, and soul, as well as for voiceover and dialogue work. New Restore and Repair tools by iZotope provide Declipper, Denoiser and Declicker utilities. And new waveform display options help with navigation and auditioning.

SpectraLayers Pro 2’s new features include significantly enhanced performance, spectral casting/molding, a shape tool for perfecting sounds and one-click noise extraction.

Sound Forge Pro 11 software is priced at $499.95. SpectraLayers Pro 2 software is priced at $399.95. Both applications are bundled in the Audio Master Suite package for $849.95.
