Nice Shoes adds Baselight Two systems

NEW YORK — Nice Shoes (www.niceshoes.com), here, continues to upgrade its facility, this time with the addition of a pair of FilmLight Baselight Two systems. One of the Baselight Two systems will be the centerpiece of a brand new color suite.

The additions follow a number of improvements in recent months. Nice Shoes added several editorial suites in 2012, and also built a custom suite and post workflow for a massive seven-screen film it contributed to.

The new color suite will allow the studio to take on more projects during peak hours. “We saw an opportunity to offer our clients more flexibility and convenience,” notes head of color, Lenny Mastrandrea. “We’re able to take on more long-form and non-broadcast work in addition to our traditional commercial workload.”

One of the Baselight Two systems was installed in colorist/partner Chris Ryan’s studio. “The Baselight Two is fantastic,” says Ryan. “With its expanded capabilities and increased capacity, it really just makes my job easier.”

Nice Shoes has been working with FilmLight since adopting the Baselight platform in 2008. “Nice Shoes has always had a reputation for talented colorists and having Baselight installed company-wide gives their colorists much more creative control in the suite,” adds Arthur Johnsen, international sales manager for FilmLight. “With Baselights networked throughout their facility, Nice Shoes is able to deliver even more options for their clients.”
