Editors' Lounge to highlight Avid's latest gear

BURBANK — On May 17, AlphaDogs Post Production will host the Editors’ Lounge, giving attendees a chance to get an up-close look at all the latest tools from Avid. Product designers and managers of Media Composer and Sphere are coming from Avid’s Massachusetts office to give demonstrations throughout the evening and will be available to answer questions.

Avid’s new Media Composer 7 accelerates high-resolution workflows with FrameFlex and gives full creative control of image framing. Time-consuming transcoding and resizing are eliminated with the FrameFlex tool. New LUT support permits editors to adjust the color on source media to compensate for new camera file formats. Improvements in audio include a new direct clip gain and master audio fader, where users can adjust gain on a specific clip, independent of track-based automation.

Avid’s Pro Tools 11 now offers 64-bit performance. Faster-than-real-time bounce capabilities delivers audio mixes with speeds of up to 150 times faster than realtime. New built-in metering standards give a variety of scale and ballistics options in delivery of higher sound quality. And the built-in Avid Video Engine allows audio post-pros to play and edit a range of HD video formats.

AlphaDogs is located at 1612 W. Olive Ave, Suite 200 in Burbank. The event is free and begins at 6:30pm. To register, visit: http://www.editorslounge.com/nextevent.html.
