Sound designer Eddie Kim joins Therapy

LOS ANGELES — Therapy (www.youneedtherapy.tv) has signed sound designer Eddie Kim, who spent seven years honing his sound sensibilities working on national advertising campaigns at 740 Sound Design. He also brings experience working on numerous feature films, shorts, documentaries, music videos and video games.

While earning a BFA in Film from SF-based Academy of Art University, Kim developed his audio style by immersing himself in Bay Area culture as a DJ. After a year working on projects with Outpost Studios, he headed south to Los Angeles, where he spent the next five years as a sound designer at Danetracks, Inc., before landing at 740 Sound Design.

His audio sensibilities are infused with a fascination for culture and music, and have been showcased in shorts such as The Gift, which was honored with a Craft Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Last Daydream, helmed by director Chris Milk.

On the web, Kim has lent his talents to an educational animated web series that teaches the ABCs of literacy to children around the world.

Kim also recently contributed to a Los Angeles MOCA installation for a project created by CR Stacyk.
