HPA panel to look at live production

LOS ANGELES — The Hollywood Post Alliance Sales Career Resource Group (SCRG) will present a new lunch panel on March 21. The panel is the latest in a series of educational events that offer support, continuing education and training resources to post production sales and marketing professionals. 

The “Live Production and Post...Catch It If You Can!” panel (www.hpaonline.com) will be moderated by Marc Genin, managing director of Gearhouse Broadcast, and will cover many issues impacting live programming for broadcast and streaming. It will take place at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood and will look at topics that include: How post is handled in live TV production and what it means to our business; If increased live production is a threat to post; Where the opportunities are for live television post production; Growth in Internet streaming as a distribution model and how this impacts the post process. 

Joining Genin will be Anthony Carbone, supervising producer, Fear Factor; Jim DeFilippis, Sr. VP digital television technologies and standards at Fox; Joe Einstein, VP operations and tech services, AEG Digital Media; and Jordan Velarde, producer, Uncle Toad's Media Group.  

Registration fees for the event are $60 for HPA Members and $80 for non-members. A buffet lunch is included.
