LAS VEGAS — Codex Digital (www.codexdigital.com) debuted The Vault at NAB, a next generation on-set laboratory solution for review, dailies and deliverables. The Vault supports digital cinema cameras made by Red, Arri, and Sony, among others, and is a standalone solution that requires no external drives.
The unit features its own internal transfer drives, allowing user to quickly offload camera files and return recording media to the field. It also has the capability to produce deliverables in all formats required for dailies review, post production and archival purposes.
Codex plans on shipping The Vault in Q4. The unit on display at NAB features support for Red drives, CF cards and SxS cards. A built-in touchscreen allows users to review dailies directly. And wireless functionality will allow users with iPads to monitor the status of transfers.
