'CINE' SHOWS TO TAKE PLACE IN NEW YORK & MIAMI

While the conference and seminar portion of The 2006 New York Cine & Digital Equipment show is still under development, ASC members will be featured as guest speakers. Additionally, exhibitors will be presenting technical seminars, and, in keeping with the show's “New York production works, come see how” theme, attendees can expect a seminar on using HD and digital technology in real world production settings.

"New York is a challenging market for equipment shows," says Clare, "but I'm looking forward to bringing my more than 20 years experience in putting on motion picture equipment exhibitions back to my home town. New York is an incredibly important production hub with features, television, independent productions and commercials. New York's production community should have every opportunity to get up close and personal with the latest innovations of our fast-moving industry."

In related news, a similar showcase will take place in Miami this November. The Miami Digital & Cine Expo is a new two-day event for production professionals that affords them the opportunity to get up close and personal with a wide range of professional equipment for film, HD and HDV formats. Cameras, as well as lenses, lighting equipment, grip, dollies, cranes, remote heads, sound gear and editing systems will be shown by both local equipment rental companies and major manufacturers.

The Miami Digital & Cine Expo (www.miamicine.org) is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 13th and Tuesday, November 14 at the Hyatt Regency Miami. In-depth production and technical seminars will be featured, and presentations will be made by members of the American Society of Cinematographers.

The two-day event is free of charge to qualified industry professionals and students.
