TELESTREAM'S FLIP4MAC ENHANCES WINDOW MEDIA IN QUICKTIME

LAS VEGAS - Nevada City, CA-based Telestream released new Flip4Mac media tools for the Mac at NAB 2005. For the first time, the new Flip4Mac components enable Macintosh OS users to make, edit and play Windows Media from within QuickTime-based media applications.

The Flip4Mac products bridge gaps between the Microsoft Windows Media format and Apple Macintosh platform. Until now, viewing Windows Media files on a Mac required downloading a separate player, importing Windows Media for editing was not possible and, until the recent introduction of the Flip4Mac WMV Export Component, making Windows Media 9 files was challenging.

The Flip4Mac WMV Player QuickTime component enables Macintosh users to play Windows Media files directly in the QuickTime player. Telestream is billing the player as the first true Mac-like experience for playing Windows media and has placed it on the market at an introductory price of $9.99.
