MTI FILM NAMES LARRY CHERNOFF CEO

Chernoff began his career over 30 years ago as a film editor in New York. In the 1980’s he founded several post production companies on the West Coast, including Encore, Riot, and FilmCore (LA/SF). He later sold them to Liberty Media and they are now a part of Ascent Media Creative Services. Chernoff, now former president of AMCS, will continue at MTI Film as their top executive.

“In my professional career I have been associated with some of the best engineering this industry has to offer," says Chernoff. "In my experience, I believe that MTI has the finest scientific minds at work in image processing as it relates to data-centric post production. It is this class of engineering science that has led me to conclude that the motion picture industry has and will continue to greatly benefit from the efforts of the team assembled at MTI. It is my ardent hope that my practical experience will be of consequence in leading the company to create additional products that directly impact the ability of facilities dedicated to DI creation and film restoration to render services on a level that the industry demands and needs."
