DIGIDESIGN REVEALS NAB PLANS

DALY CITY, CA - Digidesign will have a number of product on display at next week's NAB show, including ICON D-Command, a medium-format, integrated console environment. The newest member of the ICON family, D-Command packs control and Pro Tools system functionality into a medium-format console worksurface. Similar to the company's flagship ICON D-Control, D-Command features dedicated EQ, dynamics and monitoring control panels, and offers control over many processing functions, routing, and automation modes directly from the worksurface. Combined with the Pro Tools|HD Accel DSP mix engine and modular Pro Tools|HD interfaces and peripherals for system I/O, D-Command gives operators powerful hands-on command over their projects on a relatively small, yet expandable console. This makes it well suited for smaller post production and music facilities.

Digidesign's ICON D-Control will also be at the show. ICON D-Control is a large-format console environment, with integrated Pro Tools functionality. The system features the new Pro Tools 6.9 software.

Pro Tools 6.9 software brings a new cross-platform feature set to Pro Tools TDM and LE systems, with an emphasis on post production and advanced mixing functionality. Pro Tools 6.9 delivers enhanced picture support for Avid systems, improved Avid workgroup integration, and better post production and broadcast workflows. It also introduces advanced mixing functionality for D-Control, including a non-destructive solo mode with AFL/PFL auditioning, easy automation capabilities, simplified tracking and monitoring, and other features. Pro Tools 6.9 software also adds functions to organize plug-ins and facilitate session collaboration through the DigiDelivery network appliance while offering translations of the Pro Tools user interface in Korean and Simplified Chinese.

DigiDelivery 2.0 Client lets users exchange any kind of file of virtually any size with anyone in the world. Initially released in June 2004, the software is now at V.2.0, which adds new features for all Windows and OSX DigiDelivery users. Users can now create multiple deliveries at once, add them to a queue, prioritize them, and even quit and relaunch. DigiDelivery will pick up where it left off. In addition, users can name each delivery, add billing information, view a history of recent deliveries, and save login info for frequently used accounts to a pull-down menu.

Digidesign will also show the latest addition to the DigiRack suite of free plug-ins, which are included with all new Pro Tools systems. EQ III is a high-resolution, double-precision 48-bit EQ plug-in for Pro Tools and Avid systems. Available in TDM, RTAS and AudioSuite formats, EQ III provides D-Control users with comprehensive control over its parameters. EQ III offers 1-, 4-, and 7-band configurations for optimized CPU/DSP efficiency plus selectable shelving filters and separate high-pass, low-pass, and variable Q notch filters, all through an intuitive interface.

In the Avid Developer Community Booth, Digidesign will preview a build of Pro Tools system that supports Multi-Core Hyper-Threading. The company's Command|8 compact control surface for Pro Tools TDM or LE systems will also be at the Digidesign booth.
