CREATIVE SOUND BUYS EUROPE'S FIRST SSL C300 CONSOLE

For the last three years, Creative Sound has been using SSL’s Avant Plus system in its main Dolby- and DTS-approved Theatre A. According to studio owner Cristinel Sirli, the decision to order a new C300 console made in response to the competitive and challenging nature of the French post production industry.

“Creative Sound is a young company that has built a strong reputation among prestigious television customers, particularly those involved in documentaries, dramas and DVD mixing,” says Sirli. “This reputation is based on the fact that we always pay attention to innovation and because we believe in providing customers with solutions that have technical and artistic merit. We see equipment as a tool for our creativity and a means of satisfying our customers, both in terms of controlling workflow and completing projects in the fastest possible time.”

The new C300 destined for Creative Sound’s Studio C has 152 inputs and outputs, and is equipped with SSL’s Timefreeze automation, along with a powerful 128x8 monitoring matrix. The unit will be installed in January by Version Originale. SSL introduced the C300 back in September at the IBC show in Amsterdam.

“The new SSL C300 complements our existing Avant Plus and will allow us to offer a level of effectiveness that is way beyond that of a simple remote control system, or indeed other consoles on the market,” says Sirli. “It is the first console to offer perfect integration of a DAW, along with an incredible set of features such as automation, monitoring and the ability to handle numerous tracks. This will be of enormous benefit to our customers because it provides the best of both worlds without any compromise in ergonomics or quality. By installing a C300, we will be able to handle mixing projects more efficiently and in a better, faster way.”
