BBC MOTION GALLERY HELPING SPOT PRODUCERS

BURBANK, CA - BBC Motion Gallery (www.bbcmotiongallery.com), the footage sales arm of BBC Worldwide, has been busy recently, licensing clips for commercial applications. The footage resource has provided visuals for a five-spot Prudential campaign, as well as for a DirecTV ad via agency BBDO.

For Prudential - through the insurance provider's in-house agency, in conjunction with agency TBWA/ChiatDay - BBC Motion Gallery supplied numerous clips of animals in their natural habitats.

The "Natural Way" campaign uses the visual metaphor of mother animals protecting their young in the wild as to symbolize the company's interest in protecting its customer's investments for the future. Clips include polar bears, elephants and penguins, all taken from BBC's natural history archive. The campaign is running nationally and more spots are expected to roll out in the coming months.

Ad agency BBDO and Biscuit Filmworks director Noam Murro called on the BBC Motion Gallery to provide historical news clips for use in the DirecTV spot Forward. The ad represents a snapshot of TV viewing through the years and opens with a shot of a young boy watching "I Love Lucy." He rises from the living room and walks through a series of doors, aging on his journey while witnessing significant moments in television. BBC Motion Gallery supplied clips of the Berlin Wall coming down and astronaut Neil Armstrong's triumphant landing on the moon back in 1969.
