NTH DEGREE LAUNCHES

NEW YORK - David Edelstein and Arlan Smith have combined their experience in broadcast design and branding to create the new entity Nth Degree (www.nthdegree.tv).

The company provides clients with the full design palette from complete image and brand development to motion graphics for commercials, promos and main titles. Edelstein will serve as executive producer and Smith as creative director, with specific creative teams selected on a project-specific basis. The company opened its doors with two projects, one for BET and another for HBO.

Smith brings extensive experience in all aspects of television and film production/post-production to his role at Nth Degree. He has contributed to projects for such clients as Food Network, Discovery Networks, Oxygen, Comcast, Metro Channel and HBO and has collaborated with numerous agencies including Grey, Saatchi & Saatchi and BBDO. Smith began his career at Videoworks and then at Post Perfect, before opening his own shop Noise. He then freelanced in New York working both in-house and for design and post companies including Click 3X.

Edelstein is widely known for co-founding award-winning branding and design company FDG. The boutique company made a distinct imprint on the broadcast arena via its projects for Sci-Fi Channel, Fox, CNN, Comedy Central, USA Network, BET, MSNBC and HBO.

Prior to FDG, Edelstein was producer at Showtime Network. At Showtime, he worked on a multiple BDA Gold-winning campaign for "The Hunger," series, launches for "Stargate," "Dead Man's Gun" and "Poltergeist" as well as promos for Showtime Original Movies starring Sidney Poitier, Christine Lahti and Richard Dreyfuss.
