SEATTLE — Luma Touch (www.luma-touch.com) and Filmic Inc. (www.filmicpro.com) have launched a free online educational initiative in response to the impact of COVID-19 on the content creation community. The Mobile Creator Summit (www.mobilecreatorsummit.com) is designed, developed and hosted by the teams from Luma Touch and Filmic, and will teach new mobile filmmaking, journalism and storytelling skills to content creators from all corners of the globe.
Mirroring familiar conference speaking and presentation track formats, The Mobile Creator Summit will take full advantage of the interactive live streaming platform StreamYard to offer an online presentation and interactive panel discussion format that’s easily accessible to anyone.
Beginning Friday, April 17th, and continuing every Friday for several weeks, the Mobile Creator Summit will be streamed live simultaneously to the Filmic and Luma Touch Facebook pages, YouTube channels and Websites. The Summit will feature a number of mobile content creation learning tracks, led by well-known filmmakers, mobile journalists and trainers, YouTube influencers and professional content creators. Following the initial multi-week phase of the Mobile Creator Summit, Filmic and Luma Touch will assess future plans to extend the Summit through the summer and fall of 2020.
Each 20-minute session will be followed by a 10 minute Q&A. Additionally, each day will culminate in a panel discussion among the presenters. Some of the topics that will be covered over the multi-week Summit include mobile filmmaking, mobile vlogging, mobile documentaries & features, mobile journalism for TV, storytelling for mobile & social media, and mobile educators.
The Luma Touch team has designed and developed several leading video editing and effects products on iOS and Windows. Filmic’s Filmic Pro turns a simple mobile device into a cinematic film camera. Registration forms and a complete schedule of sessions and presenters are available online at www.mobilecreatorsummit.com.
